Econ paper Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Econ paper - Essay Example The key reason behind rising student debt is that in the peaceful era, prior to the Great Recession, millions of youthful Americans secured loans to go through university, just to graduate in an economy that did not really need workers any longer. The graduates are thus finding it more difficult to repay their loans than they probably had anticipated (Lankford, 67). Forgiving the student debt would result in an immediate effect on the economy. Responsible individuals who devoted themselves to pursing a university education would have more extra dollars every month to use and this would fuel the economy presently. The extra dollars being pumped into the economy would result to a multiplying outcome, unlike most of the provisions of the latest incentive package. Consequently, there will be an increase in tax revenue, the credit markets will be active and there will be creation of jobs. Consumers spending accounts for more than two thirds of the whole US economy and in the current months, there has been a decrease in consumer spending at an alarming and extraordinary rate. Thus, it is reasonable to argue that the quickest manner of reviving the ailing economy is to act drastically to get consumers to spend (Lankford, 68). This proposal would rapidly regenerate the housing market, travel and tourism industry, the automobile industry, durable goods and other numerous sectors of the economy. This is because the individuals who maintain those sectors will have a lot of extra dollars to spend per month. The motivating factor in the economy today is fear. Unless the individuals in the middle class feel comfortable enough that they will have their health insurance, jobs and additional money to use not just the following month, but the month following that, the economy cannot and will not indeed grow fast enough to avoid the bleeding (Lankford, 69). According to analysts, the student debt loan has a broad economic impact. In a report that was published

The Concept of Adjusted Net Savings Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
The Concept of Adjusted Net Savings - Essay Example Some of the recent theoretical work has derived the association between development prospects and saving effort. There are two results associated with the linkage levels of the saving and the development prospect (positive and negative adjusted net savings). Savings, in this case, is described as the change in the real wealth excluding the capital gains (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development 2004, p31). à The first result is positive adjusted net savings and in this case, the current value of the social welfare that is along the path of development increases. It has the implication that the development path in which the net saving is positive is located where the current value of the social welfare is ever increasing. To evaluate the improvement of the social welfare, net saving can be used sufficiently to measure it. The second result is negative adjusted net savings and in this case, the current value of the social welfare is declining; the level of the social welfare over sometime in the future along the development path will be lower than the present social welfare. This implies that the economy is on a path that is unsustainable, thus, negative net savings indicates unsustainability in an economy (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development 2004, p31). à According to The World Bank, adjusted net saving is used as a sustainability indicator that is based on the concepts of the green national accounts. Adjusted net savings evaluates the economyââ¬â¢s true rate of savings after taking into consideration the account the depletion of the natural resources, investments in the human capital, and the harm caused by pollution. Other than serving as an indicator of sustainability, adjusted net savings is also an indicator of policy (The World Bank 2010, p1).

Concept of learning Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Concept of learning - Essay Example By using metacognitive skills such as strategic thinking, the students have a better chance of being successful on a much wider variety of performance measures than by just using rote memorization. What is the Difference Between Learning and Performance Learning is the concept of gaining new information. Most students are naturally curious and have an affinity for learning. Performance, on the other hand is a demonstration of what has been learned, or is it? There are many students who learn, yet are not able to perform what they have actually learned. Many factors go into the issue of performance. Learning, as we know it in the classroom, takes a basic three step approach. Each concept must be presented orally, visually, and kinetically in order reach each student in a way that can be assimilated. For this reason, students are given many activities to perform while learning a new concept. Todayââ¬â¢s children are much less auditorially oriented than their predecessors. They are n o longer will to sit and listen to boring lectures about vague concepts; children learn what they do. It is up to us, as educators, to make learning interesting and student focused. ( Shippey, 2010) The students of yesterday knew many facts; rote learning was the way education was done.

Caring for the Elderly Adult with Diabetes Research Paper
Caring for the Elderly Adult with Diabetes - Research Paper Example There are a number of important nursing practise points that are important in providing good care for elderly adults with diabetes and their families. There are a number of reasons for choosing this topic. Firstly, diabetes affects almost 2.4 million Canadians (Government of Canada, 2011) and many more are thought to be undiagnosed. Not only that, but patients with diabetes are three times more likely to be hospitalized due to cardiac disease and twenty times more likely to need a non-trauma lower limb amputation (Government of Canada, 2011). Although these are just statistics, they do give a real feel for the potentially devastating impact that diabetes can have on the elderly adult and their families, and I think itââ¬â¢s increasingly important (as chronic disease becomes more common) to understand the best nursing practise guidelines to help prevent the complications of diabetes. Not only that, but many family members are not aware of the problems that diabetes can cause, and t herefore itââ¬â¢s important that a nurse is well-informed to answer questions about diabetes to allow best care in the home. The Registered Nursesââ¬â¢ Association of Ontario (RNAO) have issued a number of guidelines with respect to practical nursing and adults with diabetes mellitus. One of these concerns the best practise in reducing foot complications, which includes foot care education for the patient as well as frequent check-ups. Another guideline concerns best management of foot ulcers in diabetes patient. The final guideline concerns the subcutaneous administration of insulin in adults with type 2 diabetes, which is particularly important in that patients and families may need to be educated on this as maintenance of insulin levels is vital (RNAO, 2011). The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) also publish guidelines for the utilization of nurses working with adults with diabetes, and suggest that nurses may play an important role in directing diabetes management progra ms for the patient as well as advising patients on other matters (CNO, 2011). Evidently, practical nursing care needs to incorporate aspects of diabetes management, in part because it is so common and in part because the nurse can play such a vital role in preventing complications Evidently, the topic of diabetes is important to the sufferer and their family, as they will wish to know as much about the condition as they can to help prevent complications and to ensure that they stay as healthy as possible (Rother, 2007). In understanding diabetes management and care, the patient can ensure that they follow medication protocol, have a healthy diet and watch closely for signs of foot ulcers, vision loss and other complications (Rother, 2007). By doing this, the patient can inevitably prolong their life, and perhaps even reduce the severity of their diabetes (Ceriello, Ihnat & Thorpe, 2009). Both the patient and the relevant family members may need to be guided on how to intravenously i nject insulin if it is needed for their care, as this can be a complex procedure and is important in management of some cases (Rother, 2007). All of these issues have been highlighted by the RNAO Best Practice Guideline mentioned above, and therefore all nurses should be aware of how important it is for the patient and th

Overloading Trucks 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Overloading Trucks 2 - Essay Example In this similar concern, one of the current systems of overloading trucks control in Saudi Arabia can be viewed as the ââ¬ËWeigh Station Managementââ¬â¢. The prime function of this control system is to check the weight of the trucks. All the heavy vehicles need to pass through the weigh station in order to obtain the idea about the weight limits. The purpose of utilising this system control is to impose legal load limits and therefore avoiding trucks from damaging highways and bridges (AlGadhi, 2001). In New Zealand, the facet of The Weigh-In-Motion System is normally used as one of the effective current systems of overloading trucks control. This system fundamentally comprises sensors, electronics and software. This particular system is installed to gather traffic data (Dornier Consulting, 2011). The system is typically used to identify over load, over height of the trucks running in the highway and also to minimise the static weight as directed by the traffic. Also the ââ¬Å "Kistler Lineas quartzâ⬠sensors can be apparently observed in both Saudi Arabia and New Zealand as the other overloading trucks control system. It is worth mentioning that the sensors act as a controlling measure which helps in minimising road damages and accidents in the form of transmitting certain valuable information (Traffic Tech Group, 2010). It can be affirmed that the
